Womin djeka!

Womin djeka/Welcome to Year One's Blog. This is where you will find all the latest information as to what is happening in our classrooms. Please make sure that you follow by email so that you are kept up to date.

As you have no doubt heard, we are extremely lucky to have the Big Red Bus in our classrooms. This is a very special learning tool that will be utilised throughout the year by both the Year One classes especially for our Units of Inquiry. It is a double decker bus which boasts many features such as a puppet stage, projection board and a quiet upstairs reading space. Children who have worked especially hard will receive a first class ticket to gain access to the second storey. Both Mrs Sturma and myself love our Big Red Bus and we know that the children will too!

Please remember that our day starts promptly at 8.50 a.m. The children need to be lined up with their bag outside the office on the decking when the first bell rings. They will say goodbye to you on the deck and then proceed to class. It is important for their independence and resilience that you remain on the deck and allow them to enter and leave the building by themselves.

We are looking forward to getting to know all of your children in the coming weeks. If you need to speak to us prior to the Pastoral Parent Teacher Interviews  please drop us an email at samantha.millar@cornishcollege.vic.edu.au or danielle.sturma@cornishcollege.vic.edu.au to arrange a time.
